Instructions for migrating

Step 1 - moving to MMS4 while remaining on TWC 2019

• Users will need to move to the version of Cameo client compatible with MDK

  • this will be MDK 5.1.3 for cameo 19 https://github.com/Open-MBEE/mdk/releases/tag/5.1.3

• We will migrate the documents for the projects specified by Ed and Tim as test projects to confirm complete functionality

  • Note that mms history will not be migrated

  • it’s best to model sync the project as much as possible in mms3 first

  • projects need to be pushed to mms4 first, but not run any doc generation

  • Doris will be running the migration script

  • after migration script is ran, run doc generation

• Migrate the documents again for final deployment

• Retire MMS3 instance

Step 2 - moving to TWC 2022 compatible with MMS4

• users will need to move to the 2022 Cameo client with the 2022 refresh1 MDK 

  • this is MDK 6.0.0 https://github.com/Open-MBEE/mdk/releases/tag/6.0.0

• Models on TWC 2019 need to be moved to TWC 2022 tested and confirmed 

  • projects should have MBEE integration turned off first (under project options)

  • Doris will run the migration script before projects communicate with mms4

  • project should do a model sync with mms4 after migration script is ran

• Users need to regenerate documents on the new stack still using MMS4.

• 2019 TWC no longer needed for OMG projects
